FLY ASH (CLASS C)
DESCRIPTION - FLY ASH (Class C) is a cementitious material formed by burning coal. It consists primarily of silica, alumina, lime, iron oxides and magnesia.

ADVANTAGES
• This fly ash will build compressive strength when mixed with water.
• The properties of this fly ash can be easily controlled with retarders, dispersants and other additives.
• Fly ash is normally blended with cement to reduce the cost of the cement slurry as fly ash is more economical than cement.

APPLICATION
• Fly ash when blended with cement is used to decrease the slurry density, reduce permeability, improve perforating properties and promote bonding.
• The normal temperature range is 80 to 300?F. (27 to 149 C)
• Fly Ash is compatible with most other additives.

PROPERTIES
• Gray to Brown Powder
• Specific Gravity – 2.78
• Bulk Density – 75 lb./cu.ft.
• pH – 12 to 13
• Packaged in 50 lb. bags
